Exclusive: Freya's Elk Island challenge in print!

The July 6th, 2005 Southside edition of the Edmonton Examiner has a wonderful story on Freya's quest.

"Six-year old Freya Hammond-Thrasher has two goals for this summer. One is to learn how to tie her shoe laces. The other is to hike more than 90 kilometers of rugged nature trails in Elk Island National Park in order to raise money for conservation, education and research efforts in the park."

This has really started to generate interest in Freya's fundraising efforts.

  • The story about Freya was also in the westend Examiner, that's how I first became aware of it. Way to go Freya! You are truely an inspiration, not only to other kids but to adults as well.
