Elk Island progress - trail 6 of 11
July 10, 2005 - Six year old Freya Hammond-Thrasher completes a 13 km "blue diamond" trail at Elk Island trail leaving 5 to go. Her total distance covered to date is roughly 33 km.
The hardy explorer is ready for whatever the trail holds for her
A lovely black and white butterfly (which is not in my bug book)
Freya posing early on the trail
A number of beautiful wild lilies were in bloom along the trail
Pausing for a drink along the way
Freya along the trail. Note the powerful wizard's staff.
Fatigued but successful!
Oh, and we saw this bison on the drive home!

Freya,
I am so proud of you! That was a big hike in the hot sun and you were REALLY tired when Stephie and I picked you up. I knew you could do it, you're an amazing kid. Stephie and I look forward to hiking Trail 10 with you. Great job!
